Burn Wii Games & Play Them On Wii – No Modchip Needed !

How to burn Wii games or not? That is the question. Wii is gaining popularity, and thus there is a huge demand for games. Even worse, the games are expensive, so what happens if you scratch the disc or something? Read on to find out how to burn Wii games that you can use as a backup.

Okay now before you end up with this, it is updating you on copyright laws in your area. In most places it is legal to burn Wii games, as long as you own the original, and that copy for personal use, or backups. These are the most common law, but you check in your area in all cases – there is no Wii in the prison, so you do not really want to end up there right?

First and foremost, it is not possible to do any copying or anything with the Wii itself, so you must use your computer, and you need a certain type of DVD drive to get it to work. You need one of the LG-816 series, mainly 8161b, 8162b and 8163b. There is plenty of information about these on Google, so do quick searches if you need, and if you have problems finding the devices you need to burn Wii games, check out eBay, you can often get them there.

You have to make an image of the disc before you can burn Wii games, so in addition to the DVD drive, you must install some software called. NET Framework 2.0 and RAW Dump 2.0

The first thing you need to do to burn Wii games is that the game you want to burn inside your LG DVD drive. When it is in, open the raw dump file (should have been created after installation) and double-click on rawdump.exe file to get it fired up rawdump program.

When rawdump opens, you get a dialog box. Click the button that says Start Dump, and you will soon be ready to burn Wii games. The next part of the process is a lot about patience. Because of the size of the files to a DVD, you have to wait quite a while for the dump to finish. Waiting time varies according to the computer spec and hardware etc, but it can be anywhere between 1 hour and 5 hours, if you have a slow computer.

When finished, you should see a new file in the folder rawdump, an ISO file of the same name as any game you copied. An ISO file is simply a perfect picture of what was previously on a disc. You will get to know these files if you intend to burn Wii games as a habit.

The last two components of the process is probably the easiest thing you have to do when you burn Wii games. Firstly, when the dump finished, right-click the new file and select Properties. What you’re looking for here is the size of the file. ALL Wii game ISOs are 4.7 GB, which is the same size as a blank DVD disc, so you can see that the image dump has picked up everything. Everything is different from that and you have to start again, because it is not possible to burn Wii games if ISOs are the wrong size!

Once you have the right size, everything you need to do to perform the actual burning of Wii games is to get the desired burning software, start a new project, and instruct it to burn the ISO image on a brand new blank DVD. It may be a bit finicky, and if you use low quality discs you’ll find you have problems with unreadable games, etc.

To play Wii games that you burned, you do not need to get your Wii fitted with a modchip means you can burn games without modchip. Guidelines for both are easy to find online.
